Borgata Winter Poker Open Underway

These days it seems that there's big poker action being played in numerous places throughout the U.S., and the big action on the East Coast right now is the Borgata Winter Poker Open. Action got underway on Wednesday with the first $400 deep stack event. After 14 hours of play on the first day of the tournament, there were roughly 275 players remaining in the event. Tournament officials stopped the play clock with eight minutes left in Level 16 (3k/6k/500 ante) so players had time to bag, tag and be out the door by 2am. They will come back today and battle for the top prize of nearly $100K.

Among the chip leaders for tomorrow will be Deleon Florentino of Joppa, MD. He got lucky when he hit a flush draw in a 200K pot. "I'm feeling good," says Florentino, adding "I'm still here, I had him covered and would still have a hundred thousand, so why not,"
