Charles Large Interview - Bodog Poker Satellite Winner

Bodog Poker has sent players all over the world to play in the biggest tournaments on the planet. Bodog Poker Room has made poker dreams come true for low stakes players who only play the game part time when they're not working a day job. One such player is Charles Large. Large recently won his way to the LAPT event in Uruguay playing in a Bodog satellite event. Due to passport problems Large was unable to get to the event, but Bodog made sure his poker dream would not be lost due to technicalities. His satellite win was changed to the WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic, where he went on to make everyone proud.

Large had a stellar poker experience in Connecticut, finishing in the money and walking away with a $20,713 check after ending up in 26th place. It was his third live tournament cash, bringing his live event winnings total to $37,457. He also got to meet some poker stars up close, having numerous big names at his table throughout play. Large was able to knock out internet sensation Jonathan Little, and was eliminated by the "Robin Hood of Poker" Barry Greenstein. He also got to meet Bodog professional David Williams, who he said was friendly and easy to approach. He also crossed paths with Hoyt Corkins and Nick Shulman.

Large has been playing poker since his college days back in 2003, but has not been able to dedicate all his time to the game. He works as an insurance adjustor and only plays poker when he's home on evening and weekends. His average daily play is only between two to three hours, and a little more on the weekends. Large plays small stakes tournaments and prefers to play satellites into big events. He wishes there were more satellites available to the online players, but intends to play in more live events like the upcoming WSOP.

The Easton, MA native intends on going on to the WSOP again this year, and will play a heavy amount of satellites online to try and qualify for the main event. If he doesn't get into the main event via online satellite, he will still play at the WSOP. He will likely play in one or two of the smaller events, or he'll go check out the action in the other poker rooms in town like the Bellagio and the Venetian.

Large likes to play basketball in his spare time when he's not working or playing poker. He would like to be a poker champion, but he feels he must be realistic at this stage of his poker development. He won't quit his job to turn pro until he has a big win somewhere along the line. His tournament cashes came in the Deep Stack Extravaganza ($2,470), the Foxwoods Poker Classic ($20,713), and the Mega Stack Series (for another $14,274).
