Bodog Poker Announces Final List Of WSOP Prize Package Winners
by Bodog Poker | Jun 15 2010
Bodog Poker has handed out a total of 44 prize packages for this year's World Series of Poker, each with a value of $12,000 to our players! What will they be getting besides their entry to the WSOP Main Event? Each player gets $2000 towards their travel and hotel expenses and access to some of the biggest and best parties that Vegas has ever seen: the infamous Bodog Socials. Each one of our winners will also have access to a dedicated handler that will make sure their experience goes as smoothly as possible.
Getn_Outa_MI, vinnyb9, mr_dynomite, and cream420 were all early to the party. Each of them won their WSOP prize packages last year during various Bodog promotions! They'll be representing Ohio, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Arizona at the main event. Getn_Outa_MI in particular is excited about the WSOP: "Since moving to Ohio and starting a new job last November, I have not been able to find a lot of time to play poker. I usually only get a few hours of online play in every week. That's why I am looking forward not only to playing in my first WSOP, but also having a couple weeks where I will have free time to play all the poker I want."
The first of our 2010 winners got their prize packages in our April 25 tournament. Longhorn_69 (TX), Huestertay (CA), farmslicer7 (IL) and Riyan (PA) placed in the top four in the inaugural WSOP Main Event tournament of 2010 against some very fierce competition. They were soon followed by a group of ten winners in our May 2 event: hoppner21 (IN), JaredsBack and ShuMoneyTonite (NJ), Lesly_Roag (CT), dvbronco (CO), CobaltBlue (GA), oxenmbta (AZ) and a trio of players from Illinois: HandySnacks, imawhale26 and SH0W0FF.
HandySnacks played at Bodog because "[It] looked to be a good qualifying schedule with favorable tourney fields," and it's obvious that they were right! This is also hoeppner21's first visit to Vegas and we're glad to reward them for their loyalty. He told us that "I wanted to qualify with Bodog mainly because I have played on the site since I have been 18 years old and feel like I am a part of Bodog. Also, I would like to meet many of the players I have played with online in person from Bodog, that I have played with over the past five years."
May 10 saw another two players qualify: polaris 69 from New York and California's Dbushido and they were joined just six days later by mattboom (NJ), Wausau (WI), zurswierding (WA) and Jack Aplenti (GA). Jack Aplenti showed how Bodog made it possible for players to get in on the WSOP Main Event without investing a bundle: "I played the $5 tourney and won the $100 credit. I then played the $100 tourney and won the $500 credit. I then played the $500 tourney and won the $12,000 prize."
The next two weeks saw five tournaments that gave away a total of ten seats to players. robin7716 (MO), jrock_0325 (VA), VikesWin2 (TX), gman07140 (IL), tedkgb11 (WI), ChadGreenway18 (MN), BeG4MeRcY20 (CT), UFPokerStar (FL), TheHesse (TX) and jaydontbluff (CT) won their seats at events held on May 24, May 30, and then three back-to-back daily tournaments held on June 7, 8, and 9. gman07140 was especially excited about his trip to the big game, saying he was looking forward to "[p]laying in the largest hold'em tournament in the world. The most I have ever paid to enter a tournament was around $250 so this will be a whole new level of excitement. Everyone I have talked to who has gone before has said it was a blast (and none of them even cashed)."
The final ten players to receive the WSOP Main Event prize package from Bodog participated in our June 13 tournament, a massive event where players from around the world showed up for one last effort to take the top prize. We had two winners from British Columbia: bigbaldguy and draizen as well as a finalist from Russia, antiyaya. Stateside winners included WitchfinderG (CA), stimey661 (NC), frankc (WI), dgs (MI), Nate Avenson (MN), hebs (IN), CrazyHorse76 (IA).
